Annual General Meeting - 8 October 2018

The AGM will be held at Liddington Village hall at 7.45 pm on 8 October.  This is your chance to influence how the Group develops and is run.  Please come along and help us to improve how we operate.

This is another chance for you to tell the committee what you want from the Group - please  help us to achieve our aims.

Richard Howes our RoADAR Regional Coordinator will join us for the evening to provide us with an update from his perspective and will be available to answer any questions we have.

Better still put your skills to use and join the committe - new members are always welcome.  I am delighted to say we have a volunteer Secretary who will be a welcome addition to the team

Most of the Committee members are happy to stand for re-election but we are in need of some more support:

John McKellar the Bike representative is emigrating next year so will leave the Committee – any volunteers to replace him will be very welcome.

We need some people to help with the running of the Group (there is no need to be on the committee to do these):

Skillshare coordinator

Bike Ride out coordinator

Bike representative (coordinate associate allocation to Tutors)

The current incumbents are still in the Group and a full handover will be provided.  These tasks are not onerous and only need a few hours per month of your time.

Membership Renewal
We have sent out membership renewal reminders.  Please send your subscription to the Treasurer; electronically is best and easiest.  It helps us if you do this sooner rather than later so we can keep tracks on the numbers in the Group; this allows us to plan activities and promotional events.

Message from RoADAR HQ -  Another Regional co-ordinator role

Due to family and health reasons, Regional Coordinator Steve Parker has decided to step down from his role covering the East and South East Groups.  Steve will be available throughout October for those of you who may like to liaise directly and I can confirm that Steve will be continuing as normal in his role as a RoSPA Examiner.

This has led to the opportunity for a regional coordinator role covering the East and South group network, a total of 15 groups.

The  document on our Forum provides further information on the role, including requirements and fees. I would like to emphasise at his time that the location of the individual applying does not need to co-inside with the area that the role shall cover.

Should you wish to register your interest in the role of Regional Co-ordinator, East and South East  please do so by emailing me at abrant@rospa.com. Outlining your current experience and why you feel you would be the right person for the role.

The closing date for registering your interest is Friday 12th October. After this time we shall invite those who have been successful in registering their interest to meet face to face for an interview.

If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact myself or any other member of the regional coordinator team.

Kind regards
 Amy

Committee minutes    These are available from the Group Secretary if any member wishes to see them. If you are interested in reading the minutes, then please send a mail to the Group Secretary whom will promptly forward them onto you.

Committee membership  Always on the lookout for willing volunteers to help run the group and maintain its high standards. Just for info, the committee meets once a month. However, the mix of the committee is very strongly biased towards bikers; there is only one car representative now on the committee. Any car drivers want to change the balance?
